*About Barking  The wolf bark is not like that of a dog,    One could say a wolf dose not bark at all yet when the wolf  gives his warning alert that is known as a the warning bark.  The sound is more of a choppy howl, and not a bow    wow or ruff ruff.

      About Wolf Fights!
Wolves rarely fight to the death. The fights are  mostly symbolic. There is a lot of growling and whimpering ; this is part of the wolves language.    The growling   being aggression or dominance display, and the whimpering being submission.

                    About Play
Some people studying wolves say wolves do not play, while others have used the way in which wolves play and interact with one another, as a  research tool in working with mentally challenged children. In the image above this is the same facial expression a wolf will have while hunting or killing it's prey.  Needless to say that wolf is not playing.
In my opinion. I think we must first look at play. I think play in all animals, including mankind, is not just for entertainment.  A wolf pup will interact with other members of the pack to learn what it must do to survive as an adult.  A human child will do the same.  As children we learn team work as we play.   As children we also get angry with one another, and it is not, an uncommon site to see children's play soon turn into tears. As adults we continue to play our games seem to become more competitive. And yes we still continue to get angry with one another.
On the other hand, on many occasions I have seen wolves do things that seem to be just for fun, with no other explanation then a very anthropomorphic one. So perhaps wolves as well as humans,  sometimes do thing just because we can and it's fun.
